pidgin-extprefs software package provides extended preferences plugin for the instant messenger pidgin, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pidgin-extprefs
pidgin-extprefs is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pidgin-extprefs package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pidgin-extprefs *
You will get with pidgin-extprefs package name, version, architecture and description in a table
